AT&T Operations Manager (Government) in Waldorf, Maryland
The Waldorf, MD operations manager manages a 24x7 Network Operation Center (NOC) consisting of 10 Communication Technicians providing nationwide network operability for Government contracted Ground Entry Point (GEP) services with ongoing service provisioning, circuit testing, fault isolation, alarm detection and interpretation, WMS maintenance dispatch, asset coordination, and report distribution. The operations supervisor manages all aspects of the operational network to include circuit outages, prompt trouble resolution, overseeing upgrades throughout the network, coordinate the logistics of maintenance related issues and provide engineering support where applicable.
Responsibilities include scheduling, time reporting, expense report management, complete performance appraisals, travel documentation and all other administrative duties as required.
Candidate will be a customer interfacing representative for the operations group; which requires strong communications skills.
Candidate acts as the subject matter expert on various equipment and technologies to ensure timely restoration of service to provide a high level of customer satisfaction/support. Additional responsibilities include the identification analysis, correction and implementation of processes needed to provide quality customer service.
Candidate will assume the role of the Facility Security Officer for Waldorf’s Security Management Office.
Must be familiar with managing classified possessing facilities and be familiar with industry standard cryptographic devices.
Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
Coordinates work activities to achieve the volume expected to meet operational requirements.
Recognizes and recommends operational improvements.
Responsible for the day-to-day application of organizational policies and procedures.
Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
The ideal operations candidate can demonstrate personal and leadership skills for management of other operations personnel. Working closely with higher leadership, specific skills required include development and management of work schedules in scope with contractual requirements, resolution of personnel conflicts, chain of command and legal escalation paths, and coordination with engineering and program management on all operational activities and issues. Candidate must be willing and able to provide briefings to customers and leadership when requested. The candidate must be well-versed in understanding and operating analog/digital commercial and DoD telecommunications technologies and UHF radio frequency (RF) systems. Critical knowledge includes 4+ years experience installing, operating, and maintaining terrestrial circuits at T-1 rates and higher. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Required Clearance: US Citizen, with a Top Secret clearance (SSBI with 2+ years remaining), and possess a valid driver’s license.
Desired: Understanding of COMSEC and cryptographic security procedures; familiarity with facility security officer (FSO) responsibilities; experience with Microsoft Project; experience with managing occupational (bargained for) employees. Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD 8570 certification considered a plus.
