AT&T Security Architect (Government) in Vienna, Virginia

Seeking a candidate to fill a Security Architect position to support a DoD network solutions contract. Candidate will be a key member of a team responsible for the integration of security solutions. Specifically, the Security Architect is responsible for providing technical system solutions and determining overall design direction. Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the technical integrity within a subsystem or application.

Responsible for analyzing, designing & developing cybersecurity solutions in the areas of:

  1. systems architecture

  2. security operations

  3. threat management

  4. vulnerability management

  5. encryption

  6. identity management

  7. cyber threat intelligence

  8. mitigation and response.

  • Creates security system architecture concepts, including planning hardware, software and connective infrastructure for computer systems and networks.

  • Requires knowledge of a wide breadth of technology and strong familiarity with available vendor product offerings and DoD’s infrastructure.

  • Able to assess customer requirements, budget, and inventory on hand, then integrate customer's still-usable equipment, COTS vendor products, and perhaps custom configurations into system and network architectures to meet customers' needs and requirements.

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in multiple technical and business functional areas, as well as performing a larger leadership role in the organization.

  • Applies broad in-depth business and technical knowledge to establish technical direction and priorities.

  • Resolves and works on issues across multiple functional areas.

  • Effectively monitors and takes action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities and decides on issues requiring escalation. Understands the system flow for a project throughout an entire functional area (e.g. Billing, Customer Care) not just a subsystem area.

  • Has medium to long range planning responsibilities.

  • Responsible for effective transitioning of existing project teams and the facilitation of project teams in the accomplishment of project activities and objectives.

  • Key coordinator between multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of engineering efforts.

  • Some travel may be required.

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years experience or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 10 years experience. Strong technical skills and experience in cyber and network security.
