AT&T Associate Director in Toronto, Ontario

The AT&T Entertainment Group’s (AEG) Engineering Team is at the forefront of innovation, shaping the way our customers share and enjoy video content. As part of our industry-leading team, you’ll leverage our extensive networks to revolutionize the way people access their content at home or on the go. From designing, implementing and deploying the software to supporting the infrastructure that powers our video services, you’ll work on our DIRECTV online and satellite TV platforms. We’ll look to you to improve the efficiency and scalability of our systems, ensuring we continue to provide premier technology to our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•Overarching responsibility is managing technical roadmaps for software architecture systems

•Focus heavily on creation of systems to enable delivery of premium video content

•Define vision, strategy and principles for software frameworks

•Develop massively scalable frameworks

•Work closely with development teams and provide technical guidance and roadmaps for frameworks and software architecture

Key Competencies and Skills:

•Strong relevant experience with some or all of the following:

◦Software architecture

◦Message driven architecture

•Microservices, bonus points for SpringBoot and SpringCloud

•Queue and scaling stories

•Experience building or working in tightly knit devops squads

•Experience with diverse technology frameworks and technologies

•Strong design intuition and drive

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Computer science or engineering

•5+ years in a supervisor or principle architecture or development manager position

Travel to is required for this position - about 10-15% of your time
