DUTIES: Develop high performance distributed computing tasks using Big Data technologies including Hadoop NoSQL, Vertica, Teradata, Netezza, and other distributed environment technologies. Analyze large amounts of user generated content and process data in large-scale environments using Amazon EC2, Storm, Hadoop, and Spark. Analyze and model structured data using advanced statistical methods and implement algorithms and software needed to perform analyses. Develop methods to support and drive client engagements focused on Big Data and Advanced Business Analytics in diverse domains including product development, marketing research, public policy, optimization, customer experience assessment, call center management, customer interaction, and risk management. Utilize JVM-based function languages including Scala and Clojure, Hadoop query languages including Pig, Hive, Scalding, Cascalog, PyCascading, and alternative HDFS-based computing frameworks including Spark and STORM. Use Big Data programming languages and technology to write code, complete programming and documentation, and perform testing and debugging of applications. Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products used in distributed, large scale analytics and visualization solutions. Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded, and presented. Develop new concepts, methods, and techniques for cross functional initiatives. Design and develop data cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions involving standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking, and matching. Work with multi-Terabyte data sets. Build document clustering, topic analysis, text classification, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and part-of-speech tagging methods for unstructured and semi-structured data. Quantify significance of data variances and apply an array of statistical methods ranging from traditional to newly developing within the Big-Data space. Employ specialized statistical analysis software and advanced mathematical and statistical methods to design, analyze, build, validate, and help implement quantitative predictive models in order to solve business-level problems utilizing statistical modeling, multivariate linear and logistic regression, and experimental design. Coordinate tactical-related business requests for Data Analytics development enhancements. Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, providing special instructions, and incorporating any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular, and database level.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering followed by eight (8) years experience in the job offered or eight (8) years of progressive experience analyzing large amounts of user generated content and process data in large-scale environments using Amazon EC2, Storm, Hadoop, and Spark; analyzing and modelling structured data using advanced statistical methods and implementing algorithms and software needed to perform analyses; and developing methods to support and drive client engagements focused on Big Data and Advanced Business Analytics in diverse domains including product development, marketing research, public policy, optimization, customer experience assessment, call center management, customer interaction, and risk management.
