We are looking for a strategic team leader to support store design and experiences across all our retail locations. As Creative Director, you will collaborate in the creative vision and implementation of innovative, original retail store environments and programs. Building design guidelines to ensure continuity and adherence to strategy. Integrates with our partner agencies on design strategy, and provides appropriate business, design, consumer and cultural story-telling within the context and parameters necessary. Provides leadership and direction to internal and external design teams.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead/direct teams across multiple disciplines, providing vision, strategic and tactical direction, design continuity. Ensures project goals and priorities align with retail business strategies. Help ensure project demands are met, and teams have direction and resources necessary

  • Foster innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork

  • Collaborate with peers, design counterparts and partner groups to ensure project design continuity across all areas of focus and alignment to Brand plans

  • Manage design processes to ensure design deliverables, timelines and budgets are met. Initiate and drive best practices

  • Communicate and present design concepts to all levels of management; and, effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner

  • Regularly assess and assist product merchandising of all categories for assigned retail store to ensure standards are maintained

  • Stay current in design trends, production techniques and vendor products

  • Demonstrate awareness of current advertising and marketing campaigns, new product launches and update store visual communication accordingly

  • Implement designs with creativity, taste and style – minding launch objective and budget

  • Participate in the organization of special in-store events, where necessary

  • Cultivate relationships with multiple vendors with varying capabilities, maintaining an emphasis on quality production, adherence to brand standards, and best practices

  • Partner, coach and develop store teams to understand corporate visual merchandising standards

  • Organize and conduct visual merchandising training sessions for retail instilling accountability to maintain visual standards

A background like this will get our attention:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, industrial design or graphic design

  • 8+ years’ retail design experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design

  • 3+ years’ supervisory experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of design processes; retail industry experience a must, to include retail environments, concepts and programs

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including meeting facilitation and presentation experience, and the ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to senior team

  • Demonstrated ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and geographies

  • Sound judgment and ability to contribute meaningfully to the determination of policy and strategy

  • Ability to motivate others, deal with ambiguity, and effectively collaborate in decision-making
