AT&T Sports Net is the home of the Colorado Rockies, Vegas Golden Knights, Utah Jazz, and Mountain West Conference, and Big Sky Conference. The regional sports network reaches 4.7 million households across ten states and delivers its telecast in high definition.
AT&T Sports Net is owned and operated by AT&T, which operates regional sports networks in the Southwest, Northwest, Pittsburgh, and Rocky Mountain geographic regions. The four networks combined reach approximately 15 million households across 23 states and own exclusive programming and distribution partnerships with more than 25 teams and conferences.
This position is based in Denver, CO and reports to the General Sales Manager located in Denver, CO.
The Account Executive plays a critical role in advertising revenue generation for the network by selling sports sponsorships directly to advertisers and targeted advertising spot schedules to advertising agencies. This individual will focus primarily on developing and closing new business. There may be some existing accounts. This is an outside sales role requiring heavy client-contact, in-person and via telephone/email. It also has an inside sales component communicating across several departments.
Meet or exceed assigned sales budget
Develop, expand, and manage assigned accounts to maximize advertising revenue
Develop and execute an effective sales strategy to increase revenue year over year utilizing specific customer relationship management tools provided
Understand and manage a transparent sales process including account updates, collections, management of schedules, post-analysis of rating point delivery, accurate weekly, monthly and annual sales forecast
Develop working relationships including the negotiation of rates and other contractual terms with advertising agencies in the context of organizational objectives and client historical
Utilize integration concepts to develop regional sports marketing programs
Brings understanding of and remains current on media industry and emerging trends
Research, analyze, qualify, and monitor competitive media to generate new prospects and appointments
Prospect, qualify, get appointment, conduct needs analysis, develop solution, construct marketing solution, effectively present the marketing solution, negotiate, and close the sale to generate new advertising revenue that meet the needs of clients and is consistent with organizational guidelines
Build relationships through strategic client contact responsibly utilizing expense account and provided entertainment assets-including hosting at live events in a professional manner
Gather and deliver to appropriate internal departments client materials utilizing internal standards and procedures. This includes: approved credit process, approved commercial cop, commercial traffic instructions, routing and approval of necessary production assets, and directly overall stewardship and agreed upon delivery
Manages an effective work-flow process with sales support team
Other duties as assigned
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in TV sales
A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
A strong overall knowledge of the media industry
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Ability to make effective presentations both one-one and in group settings
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Effective organizational and project management skills
The ability to multitask and work effectively in a high pressure environment
Internal software proficiency must be developed (Wide Orbit, Strata, Media Monitors, Volicon)
Proven ability to work with all levels of individuals, both internally and externally, with professionalism, integrity and tact
Self-motivated and goal-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
Availability to work beyond normal business hours for to build prospect and client relationships
