As an Assistant Vice President (AVP), you take the mantle of leadership seriously. You have mastery in Design, Design Thinking, and are able to demonstrate your point of view with a portfolio of work from your 10+ years in enterprise design, or related field.
You are proactive and highly motivated, with exceptional facilitation, a race-under-fire skill and have a reputation as a change agent in the ever-changing world of high tech. You are constantly able to embrace new challenges and have the commitment to solve gnarly business and design challenges to impact the innovation across a large organization. Your strategies and design leadership have resulted in powerful software that has garnered success in the marketplace. You are metric-driven and human centered in your approach, with a deep passion for your customers.
You understand multiple disciplines in the software design business, and because of your work, customers are delighted – satisfaction rates increase – design is coveted in your company. You will report to the Vice President of Design Technologies.
Day to Day:
This winning candidate will be able to assess the new landscapes, and strategize approaches that attend to the goals of the organization (line of site). They will be close partners with the VP, helping to elevate design across AT&T – while inspiring a high performing team to solve complex design problems with elegant, effective solutions
Daily Office Presence in Dallas, TX is required. No relocation is available for this position.

Additional qualifications will include the following:
10+ years of product design experience, with at least 5 managing design managers (Enterprise Software preferred)
Demonstrated success leading a team to building great products and services
Deep understanding of how design, prototyping, and user research meet complex and varied requirements
Deep understanding of human-centered approach and methods to design
Experience integrating user research into design practices
Hands-on experience designing across platforms: web, iOS and Android especially
Adaptable to emerging technologies and committed to life-long learning
Passion for improving access to education all around the world
Superior collaboration and facilitation skills.
Self-motivated with strong direction and presence.
Ability to build credibility and trust with both team members and management.
Excellent presentation oral and written communication skills.
